Pixel Imperfection in Lean Product Design

WealthTeamWork is a fintech platform for households and independent financial advisors. It helps users organize financial records, track net worth, communicate, assign tasks, and share documents across both web and mobile.
Challenge
When I joined WealthTeamWork, the platform was built entirely by developers — no Figma files, no design system, and an inconsistent UI. While a full redesign was underway, the immediate priority was shipping critical features quickly. I designed these workflows directly on top of screenshots, prioritizing function over polish with the understanding that visual refinement would come later.
Approach
I worked from leadership’s design specs, breaking them down with the team to surface edge cases and integration details. From there, I produced wireframes, iterated through critique, and delivered final mockups built on screenshots of the existing app. Without a design system, I guided developers by pointing to components already in use elsewhere, ensuring quick implementation despite the lack of polish.
